Casa Hogar Benito Juarez Cuicatlan

Tabita

The beautiful little girl in this picture is Tabita, the very first child to be helped by Casa Hogar Cuicatlan. Untreated spina bifida nearly killed her. She was given a life saving brain surgery and is now a healthy, happy, little girl. It was a miracle her mother found us. Casa Hogar Cuicatlan exists to serve children like Tabita.

Casa Hogar Benito Juarez “Cuicatlan” is our second children’s home project in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Partnering again with the director’s of Casa Hogar, we were able to very quickly launch a facility that is now home to more than thirty children.

The catalyst for the creation of this new home was that there were 27 children living in a nearby prison with their incarcerated parents.  The first mission of Casa Hogar Cuicatlan was to remove these children from the grossly inappropriate environment of a prison cell, and to provide for them every joy that a child needs and deserves.

We are proud to say that the home is now a safety net for the impoverished children of this region.  Inside the walls of Casa Hogar Cuicatlan, is everything a child needs to have a bright future.

Note:  Simply Smiles partnered with Casa Hogar Benito Juarez to jointly launch this incredible new children’s home in Cuicatlan.  Simply Smiles provided the land, the initial construction costs, a vehicle, as well as start-up funding.  Today, Casa Hogar Cuicatlan operates independently.  Simply Smiles provides support for medical and other emergencies.  The children of Casa Hogar Cuicatlan may also avail themselves of our Higher Education Scholarship Program.
