Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to in 2025:
We’re opening a second village in Mexico!
Ten years ago, we opened the Simply Smiles Children’s Village in Oaxaca (Wa-ha-ka), Mexico. From lives saved to college graduations, the children in our care are thriving.
But the need is tremendous. There are hundreds of children on our waitlist, desperate for a chance to live with Simply Smiles—and dreaming of a chance at a brighter future.
In response, we are excited to announce that we’re building a second Simply Smiles Children’s Village in Oaxaca!
We are targeting a 2028 opening, driven by a $1 million campaign to build and launch this second village.
Steps to opening the village:
Currently, we need your help to secure the perfect site for the village and purchase the land:
The Simply Smiles Endowment
Build a brighter future. Leave a lasting legacy.
In a milestone for the long-term financial health and future of Simply Smiles, we have partnered with the Connecticut Community Foundation to host and steward the Simply Smiles Endowment.
The Simply Smiles Endowment exists to ensure that Simply Smiles will always have the financial resources we need to provide for the children in our care.
Through a legacy gift to The Simply Smiles Endowment, you can help us provide bright futures for children for generations to come—while simultaneously meeting your personal, financial, and philanthropic goals.
Strategic Planning
Over the course of 2025, Simply Smiles, Inc conducted a strategic planning process.
The summary below presents the results of that effort.
Three key outcomes:
Expansion: Simply Smiles will build a second children’s village in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Financial Sustainability: Diversified, sustainable, and expanding revenue streams will be developed to secure our impact and our future.
U.S. Programming: The organization will potentially pursue opportunities to re-establish a new domestic program presence.
Through the strategic planning process, we affirmed our core competencies and capacities and defined how to best apply them. We identified our weaknesses and threats and pursued strategies to mitigate them. And a clear, actionable roadmap was created to guide Simply Smiles for the next 10 years.
Thank you for helping children to thrive in 2025!
Every day we make children in need smile. Behind all the work that we do, there is a Simply Smiles supporter making an impact. Take a look. Be Inspired. Consider making a year-end donation.
We do not post photos of the children
Throughout our website (and on social media), we do not share photos or other identity-revealing details of the children currently or previously in our care at Simply Smiles Children’s Villages.
This is to protect the children’s privacy, safety, and dignity.
While we are proud of how we provide for and nurture the children, what is posted online exists forever online. Simply Smiles has therefore adopted policies designed to protect the children from any immediate or future stigma that may be associated with receiving support from a child welfare program.
While posting photos of the children may help Simply Smiles to generate support for our work, the health, happiness, and success of the children is our priority.
Policy adopted January 1, 2022
